We were discussing this in the channel the other night.

Twice in the past we had people step forward and host a server, but inevitably people lose interest and stop showing up and thus if fell by the wayside.
Now that the "full" version of Minecraft has been released, third time's the charm?

I would honestly consider it, but from the research i've done, Minecraft servers are a bit too expensive for me.

So, there is now a new Minecraft Server!


Given the fact that it is a new server, plugins may be installed at a later date, but for now it's a standard Minecraft server.

Biggest rule is don't steal and try not to build on an area someone else has worked on.

I and a friend have a fort set up just a few steps from the spawn area. Feel free to use it as shelter from monsters. Storage chests are labled by signs specifying what they contain. I have stashed a bunch of stone tools in the tools chest for anyone to take what they need from to get started (hoes, lumber axes, and pickaxes), but please don't take anything from any other chest

So I jumped onto the Minecraft server last night (I owe that toolbox near spawn a stone pick and axe) and built a little shack with a mine shaft under it. I've quickly run into the standard problem I have with MC; what do I build? Last time I built something large and obnoxious on a multiplayer server the other people on the server decided they didn't like it and defaced it.

Seeing as it's a Cape server that random joebrine minecraft player #73623 isn't likely to stumble into by accident, I don't think anyone's gonna deface your hard work

True dat, but the instance I'm talking about was on a server with friends, who also used to play CoH. I guess they didn't like my enormous stone tower that said "MONSOON" in big glass letters with lava flowing behind them, so they changed it to say "DICKS" instead.
