Well, there will be many more than 8 thank yous here, but it's for the 8th anniversary. You'll get the fish part if you read to the end.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in for any of the 8 theme shows in May and for the Anniversary Special last Saturday. Heck, I want to thank anyone who has tuned in to The Cape anytime in the last 8 years, because without you, to paraphrase Logos, we'd just be sad people with massive mp3 collections.

Thank you to all the DJs who hopped on board the theme train and did shows in May. We had some really creative ideas! I wish I could have listened to all of them. Don't know who all recorded theirs (I did), but perhaps we can set up a special podcast area for those that did? *pokes the tech people*

Thank you to all the Street Team members who did zone running during the DJs' 8-theme shows and who ran teams anytime in May.
I especially want to thank Enigma for making all the awesome flyers for each theme. She really went above and beyond for this, and honestly it was her idea. I just put up a few posts to try and coordinate things. I also want to thank Enigma for opening up the party on Saturday, especially considering she has a technical issue making it nearly impossible to do a regular show. She had to prerecord her hour and play it all at once, and it was fantastic despite being, I'm sure, a big pain for her to do.
Thank you to Pheonyx for our second hour of the Anniversary Special and for giving up his regular time slot for the party. He had a really good excuse to back out and not do a show at all if he wanted, but he kept the party going for us. Glad you're feeling better and happy birthday!

Also thank you to Crypto and Templar for giving up their regular time slots. Actually, I should thank you three for not even blinking when I just arbitrarily took your time slots.

Thank you to Attercap for our third hour of the Anniversary Special and for putting all the flyers up on the front page. We kept him pretty busy!
Thank you to Angel for moving up an hour and doing the fourth hour of the Anniversary Special. I'm sure there was some behind the scenes scrambling to figure out what to do when Crypto got sick, and I'm sure I have Angel to thank for making it all work out. So I also have her to thank for not putting me in panic mode!

Thank you to Anarchy for filling in at the very last minute and doing hour five of the Anniversary Special. I'm sorry my machine glitched and I couldn't come to the show in Night Ward (which reminds me, I still need to figure out if I can get Wondie out of there).
Thank you to Khronos and Eve for the sixth hour of the Anniversary Special, and the Punch and Judy show (I guess that makes Khronos Judy?

) Y'all had me cracking up! Also big thanks to Eve for coordinating zone running.
Thank you to Sultry Siren for hour seven of the Anniversary Special. Sorry I hit a wall and had to go to bed at the beginning of it, but I'm sure it was as wonderful as you always are.
Thank you to Kai for hour eight and for coordinating the scavenger hunt. You put a LOT of work into that!
Thank you to Shecky for the after party and for doing zone running at the beginning of the event. You were there for the whole thing and beyond and your dedication to this station is always impressive.
Thank you to Pretty Hate for doing most of the redside zone running single-handed. I know you were getting tired before I was, and I don't know how long you stayed after I gave in and went to bed, but I admire your perseverance.
Thank you to Scattershine for picking up the slack on the zone running and doing the "leftover" zones.
Thank you to everyone who dealt with whatever came up after I went to bed. Unfortunately my 6am wake-up meant my usual 11pm bedtime had to be observed, at least my body thought so. I wanted to stay longer but Matlock was definitely over.

And thank you to anyone I missed. Everyone pitches in to make these events successful and I am eternally grateful for your help, as I have been so busy with real life this past year that I have really not had the concentration I've needed to apply to event planning and coordination.
Which leads me to some sad news. This was my last event as Cape Events Planner. It was a hard decision for me to make, but I really need to step aside and handle my real life priorities, like my business, school, and planning my own wedding. I am also going to be taking a hiatus from DJing, effective immediately. I will be on fill-in status and will be doing the occasional show, but I won't be part of the regular line-up for awhile. I'm planning to do a special show for my own 8th Anniversary with The Cape in July, but I'm not sure quite when yet. I'll keep you posted.
So thank you to everyone who's has made the past eight years so amazing. It's because of you that I
will be back. You've made The Cape my home, and I can never leave it for long.
