An Exhaustive Cure For Boredom, Part 1

A forced sigh escaped her lips as she adjusted the super-tightened scrunchy tie around her right, crimson red pigtail and watched crouched from a rooftop as a family goon paced along a dockside on the crisp night in Independence Port. She'd done this a million times it seemed like. How boring, how routine! She could do it again with hardly a blink, but what fun would that be? She was bored of easy prey. With the war troubling her community as of late having come to a very abrupt end, she needed some source of thrill to keep her from going crazy....Well, crazier, some would argue.

Screw this..., she said as she hopped off the back of the rooftop and began to stride purposefully towards a local Longbow outpost. For anyone that knew her for all but even five minutes, one might assume she's off to cause trouble with Longbow. But not this time. She had something else in mind. She took note of a dozen different mooks she could have taken out to dinner on the way to her destination. It'd save time. Surely she had something better to do with her time? One would think, and it would perhaps be true another night. But not this night.

She arrived at the local Longbow outpost. The Agent at the reception desk eyed her somewhat suspiciously and inquired, Can I help you...? She didn't blame him. Usually, when someone walks into a military outpost wearing camo cargo pants lined with baggy pockets packed with who-knows-what, a leather trenchcoat and a tactical belt with many filled pouches strapped to their waist and an oversized blade sheathed and strapped at their backs, it would not typically mean they are there to attend a party.

She offered the Agent an easy, reassuring smile. Actually, yeah. Can I take a peek at your most wanted list for the week? I could use something to keep me from dieing of boredom. The Agent shrugged, blinked, and rifled through his desk and handed her a dossier from a stack of papers. The crimson redhead accepts the dossier and skims over it. As she did so, the Agent added, If you manage to bring any of them in, it'll probably get you some cash and a few fans in the PPD. Ridia nodded and continued to skim over it. She was, admittedly, far less interested in the money or the fans, more so for the thrill of the hunt. Unfortunately, most of the listed individuals were not all that outstanding. At least not through her eyes. High ranking family dons and Skyraider officers that have been a particular pain in the ass lately it seems.

Finally, one catches her eye...An elite Arachnos Bane Spider by the name of Vilts. Apparently, this clever bastard had flew in under the radar during a Rikti raid leading a squad of several Arachnos fliers and have since managed to evade Capes, the PPD, and Longbow alike. According to intelligence reports, he's been doing bombing runs with his squad over high value port facilities. He'll tank the local economy and cause no end of hardship if he keeps up the "good" work. Not to mention the port is where much of the stock for her club comes from. She'll be doing her business a favor while she's at it. Slippery, clever, and intelligent. Just the sort of prey she was looking for. A slightly creepy smile crept over her expression and she pointed at Vilts' listing. Without another word she left through the front door and pocketed the intel reports.

But where to find this slippery pilot? They must have a hidden hangar somewhere in the area. It was time to make some calls and get her eyes and ears on the street doing some investigating. As such, she procured a smart phone from a pocket in her jacket and began informing her people...

((Part 2 a little later))

It was past midnight and the pale woman was in her apartment office looking over the financials from the day before. She punches a few keys and clicks the mouse a couple times buying and selling the average persons yearly salary at a go. The window behind her rattles slightly as some cape or other zooms past her building. It's a sign you've been living in city for a while when a human flying past your window at subsonic speed doesn't cause you to look up from your work. Inza's cell phone ringing does get her attention however. A glace at the screen caues her to smirk a bit. This was about to either be something horrible or something amusing.

Hello Ridia I hope you aren't calling for bail.

Inza's turns and looks out the window to Atlas Park below as Ridia begins to explain the nights fun. She sees heros streaking through the night sky and zip throught the traffic on the streets below. There was a controled chaos in this city she loved. It made it very easy to lay low and live during odd hours without people asking too many questions.

Yeah I can wander around and ask some questions. I still haven't had dinner yet either so I can do both at the same time. I'll meet you at the club in a couple hours with whatever I have come up with.

The phone is hung up and put back on the desk. Well at least she wasn't going to fire bomb anything or at least wasn't planning on it so Inza would play along. Things had been getting a little stale and for her stale was bad, stale would turn her into one of those old dust farts that couldn't keep up with the times bacause they refused to be part of it.

She packed up a small bag with her "heroing" outfit. It wasn't really necessary in a city where people spit fire, crapped thunder and had bullets pancake on perfect teeth without flinching but it never hurt to play by the rules even if the populace was used to seeing the impossible happen before their eyes daily. It was one of the rules her people had that she didn't give lip service too. Mortals must never know of our existance and to Inza that was gospel even if it ment dressing up like some S&M Dom with a taste for bright color.

The phone is picked up as she heads for the elevator down to the lobby a small smile on her face

This should be amusing.
