So, how to put this without sounding like I'm being persnickety and/or needy.

The only night of the week that I could do an SG night, due to prior obligations and work and sleep schedules, is Monday night. Now, having said that, I'm fine with the SG night taking place another night and missing it - hell, I'm used to that with other SGs that I'm in - but I really want to try and make an effort to be involved with this one.

Also keep in mind that I am a craptastical roleplayer with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of the steampunk genre, so my confidence in my roleplay within the SG is going to be about, um ... nil. However, if you guys are willing to have me, and put up with me being an idiot sometimes, I'd love to be involved.

I'd be good with Mondays.

Mondays, I have a standing private TF group with some friends that we've been doing for months. I won't leave that.

Looks like I'm out, sorry :D

I'm going to try to do something for your group.

That said, I have a standing appointment on Monday nights.

I've had a lot of questions about the group and who will/won't fit into it, so I figured I'd post a bit more clarification.

As previously mentioned, the Expeditionaries is a "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" type group of adventurers. While it was officially disbanded pre-WWI, the members did not necessarily stop their adventures. Sera and John ended up getting transported to the future and arrived in present-time Paragon City. They've run into a few other former members of the group, and decided to get the team back together, so to speak. They are also recruiting others that would fit within the ideals of the group "to seek lost knowledge and hidden truths, and to bring righteous justice to the oppressed and downtrodden" therefore are open to modern heroes and other time-travelers who were not originally part of the group "back in the day."

If you're not sure about your idea, run it by me and I'll give you my opinion. :)

We have quite a few people in the group now, so if you need an invite, just ask in Cape Global if anyone is on their Expeditionaries toon and they can toss you an invite.

Well, I still need to get Sasha realigned before I can join the group, and I can't do Mondays for a regular SG night, but I'm definitely up for other group activities otherwise once I get her in.

Can she be one of the time-travelers from back when? Maybe something went wrong and she ended up in the Isles and has to find her way back to the group or something. What do you think?

Sounds good to me Mizzy. We might pick a second night of the week and rotate them, something like 1st and 3rd Mondays, and 2nd and 4th Thursdays. Fridays are totally out for me, since I have my show and then immediately afterward my regular SG night with The Dawn Patrol.

Once we get a feel for who all is in the group and what levels we have, we can also figure out group events like TFs or RP missions.

This smacks of fairness and compromise and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. :D

I've got a character in progress. He's stuck Redside at the moment, since I can only make a Solider there. But Donovan Wing (SCIENCE HERO!) will be Blueside soon.

Still cogitating concepts on this one, and I'm waiting to see just how the pieces of the Steampunk pack look. Once it's out, I'll see if I can create an appropriate toon.

I'll present my characters:

Fear Machine
It is a German prototype war machine developed during World War I. It was defeated and captured by members of the Expeditionaries during the war, then reprogrammed and deployed against its former masters, as these things usually are. After the war it ended up in storage somewhere. Now that the Expeditionaries are active again it has been seen in Paragon City spreading fear among the criminal elements. Fear Machine is a robot who can produce different kinds of smoke and gasses. In the trenches it was supposed to choke people to death with its smoke, but when it was captured the Expeditionairies modified it to produce non-lethal gasses. The machine seems to possess some kind of rudimentary intelligence but it lacks social skills, and has a limited vocabulary.

Since an antisocial stupid robot isn't exactly interesting for roleplaying purposes I've also made...

Arestes
He arrived to Earth thousands of years ago as part of an exploration team from the fourth planet of the solar system. Something went awry during the mission and Arestes ended up frozen in a glacier during the last ice age. Recent global warming has released him to once again explore the planet. Unfortunately the natives seem to have caught up with his technology and he is often mistaken for some other kind of aliens called Rikti. He is currently in the Rogue Isles trying to make sense of things. Arestes is a martian in the style of John Carter, or as close as I can get without having actually read any of those stories.

If anyone has an idea for mingling their stories with these guys let me know, I'm flexible with their backgrounds and can adapt.

I created a Global Chat channel for the group, so feel free to join. It's set to public for the time being, so just open up a chat tab and join Expeditionaries and that's where you'll find us :)

Also, we are planning our first official SG RP get-together for Monday, May 16th at 7:30pm eastern. I want to do another day the next week that's good for Mizzy, so that will probably be a bit later since she's west coast (sorry Fred). Might also work in one weekend a month.

I wouldn't be able to do it then anyway because I don't even get off of work until 7:30 eastern :D
