Well, I got some more for my collection:

Deluxes:
Bumblebee
Prowl
Snarl
Soundwave (ROCKS!)
Jazz

Voyager:
Grimlock
Lugnut

I almost go the Oil Slick and I saw the Leader Class Megatron but just didn't have to cash.... it was one Megatron or three deluxes... so I went with Quantity.

From China, but under $90!

He will be worth it when he comes out.

Review time!

Crane Mode
Image

It's a Cybertronian stuff-lifter! Really, it depends on how far you're willing to accept alien vehicle modes. I think it serves its purpose quite well, and its rather un-epic appearance really just lends more to the Longarm Prime identity.

It's also great for carrying Malcolm McDowells!

Image

Tank Mode
Image

The transformation between vehicle modes is very simple, but thanks to each vehicle using a different side as its front end, there's a decent amount of differentiation here. Again, it's an alien tank, so your mileage will vary depending on your attitude towards those kind of alt modes.

One really neat bit is that the large main turret and two side turrets can all raise/lower independently, meaning Longarm Prime can defend himself from three attackers at once if he's forced to regrettably assume his secret military alt mode. Also, his treads get great traction on rogue grounded Malcolm McDowells.

Image

The tank mode's silhouette also has a lot in common with Armada Megatron's.

Autobot Hero, Noble Humanitarian, White Knight Against the Darkness: Longarm Prime
Image

It's worth noting that I panel-lined his mouth in.

Image

Longarm Prime looks completely unthreatening and unassuming. He's a little short. He's a little squat. He looks like a pencil-pusher with a crane on his back. However, he still has several key points of articulation, including elbows and hips specifically designed for this mode!

Image

You can also replicate his limb-stretching power to a decent degree.

Image

And he knows karate!

Image

Decepticon Spy, Master Double-Agent, Monovisioned Sexy Face: Shockwave
Image

The transformation between robot modes is what you are paying for on this toy. It's incredibly well thought out, and -everything transforms-.

Image

Now, there are a couple little problems I have. First, show-accuracy says you gotta raise his shoulders. However, this kind of limits their rotation a bit. Not enough to have me forgoing that part of the transformation, but it may bug you. Also...

Image

See that? Watch what happens if you put things at the wrong angle.

Image

It's very easy for gaps to show up in his head assembly. However! The gaps are -not- distracting, and frankly you'll probably not notice them much unless jerks like me keep pointing them out. His neck does have a bit of wobble to it due to a lack of locking, but its joint is stiff enough to keep it in place most of the time.

Image

So yeah, he can hold the tank turret like a big long throbbing cannon. However, like Longarm Prime, you can leave it on his back. And oriented correctly, it looks both cool and familiar...

Image

More Armada Megatron homage! Maybe not intentional, but the horns and back-slung cannon really resemble one another. And of course...

Image

Yeah. They kinda look alike. Dunno why. o_O

Overall, Shockwave is a -blitzkriegingly- nice toy...if you are into the robot-to-robot transformation. His vehicle modes are likely not winning a lot of folks over, and if the two robot modes don't interest you, the figure as a whole likely won't either.

However, I adore the toy, and really do recommend him to anyone that's so much as on the fence when he releases in a month or three. :D

Those arms look like pile bunkers.

Also, that tank armor is pretty useless for deflecting enemy cannon fire should they actually take hits. Hopefully the armor is durable enough to absorb direct impact, because there's totally not enough deflection present in the tank's signature to absorb direct hits unless a shot hits the treads.

Oh mighty Vangelus master of all transfomers toys, i have a question. My work usually get in well to be honest a bunch of generic or ripoff toys. With the Christmas season we got alot of generic Transformer knock offs, or even repaints and repacked one with diffrent labels.

My question how ever is, we did get an actual Transformer figure. Its a box set of Optimus Prime and Megatron, the box says Transfomers Universe on it. I know Prime looks like remade version of Gen 1 Prime, and Megatron its a Gen 1 Head, but he's a Green tank. I was just curious the price is 19 bucks for this, and i've always been fond of Gen 1 toys but is it worth that price tag.

That two-pack is unfortunately kinda...bleh. :/ Very few people like the Megatron, and almost nobody likes the Prime. I doubt you'd really enjoy it- there are a lot of nicer and nostalgia-wankier Transformers out there for a similar price.

I kinda missed out on the whole playing with Transformers thing...being a girl, I was more interested My Little Ponies and legos, but I had to share what -I- found at a local Wal-Mart....

Image

It's a Vangelus! And you should see how he folds up to fit in the tiny back seat in my truck! He even comes with a cool removable trench coat!

I found the orginal Optimus Prime (strolls down memory lane) He's in my bedroom on my dresser in his Truck mode. :)

I got Leader Class Ultra Magnus... then decided to get Deluxe Bumblebee (found him at my local Walgreens.)

Got a question Vange... where can I find a Snarl online for the same price as in the stores? Nevermind, found one for 9.00 bucks online. :)

Bought Voyager Optimus Prime & Blitzwing :D

UPDATE: Found SNarl at a some-what local Meijers. :)

I got the two pack of Jetfire and Jetstorm, their not that bad. I also noticed that they have Shockwave at a Toys R Us. Thinking of getting him.

And is Oli Slick part of the Decepticon team that arrived on Earth, or did he arrive on his own later on?

Also can't wait for The TF: Revenge Of The Fallen toys. Devestator! :D
