Seriously? Well, sorry that I gave a bit of concern that there are people that will try to ruin fun. I never said that it was "gloom and doom", but I did caution against those who might try, especially with the PvP IO drops, if you think that people won't show up to take advantage of non PvPers for those, then no, you really don't know RV at all.

Fom, People have shown up and done that in Warburg, and in Siren's call also.

Yes, they have, however, in RV people will have all of their powers and set bonuses. A lot of the folks who show up for your PvP nights are fliers, in RV almost no one flies... why, because most PvPers have a PPP or APP that gives a -fly. Unlike the exemplar/malefactor down zones, here you are going to face people who will neutralize most PvEer's modes of travel and then just kill them, over and over. Not to mention that the bulk of the PvPers in the zone will have builds/IOs that will be far more effective in a PvP situation than in other lower zones. If you don't think people will take advantage of the situation, I think you are being naive. Will these people show up eventually? Sure. But starting out that way just seems to me to be killing the point of hosting the event.

So judging by what you are saying, unless you are an uber PVPer, never go into RV?

My feelings are, even if you're not a hardcore PvPer but can handle being ganked without having a tantrum over it, then why not? That's what this is all about. Having fun. So, we get ganked by hardcore PvPers. Maybe we'll learn how to better defend ourselves out there.

Me, I was a hardcore PvPer in every game I played before CoX, with one of them being entirely PvP in a large scale FFA warfare situation (Shadowbane) so I don't let it get to me when I come across people better than me.

If we go into it with that attitude, who really cares? It's not like there's much of a penalty for dying. Yay, hospital trip. No breaking gear or anything like that. So, fall down, get up, try again, and laugh about it.

Hardly. I am a mediocre at best PvPer, but I still do it. My point was don't put a big public target on it from the get go... let people play and fight and work in to it, and then deal with the folks who come by word of mouth. Kinda let the folks who don't normally PvP get used to the differences and all before throwing them to the sharks.

while I appreciate the concern, Next time, something like that should be done with me in PMs, not in public, where it can seem like you are trying to control the event.

My apologies, I certainly wasn't trying to do that. It really is just the "care bear" in me that tries to avoid problems that I see from happening to people I care about. Unfortunately I am also an argumentative cuss and tend to beat many an expired equine.

I also had fun last night and the zone seemed to be rather cordial for the most part.
