~Sister 'R', as I will call her, butting in to my conversation with a friend who just mentioned he had to go clean-shaven to attend BYU (said friend had a woodsman-style bead going on), after I pointed out that half of the church's presidents all had beards, citing hypocrisy. We laughed for a couple minutes and agreed to shelf the topic indefinitely.

Playing Trivial Pursuit, I asked my friend this question: "What was the only repealed Constitutional Amendment concerning?"

I about died laughing at her answer: "I should know this, but I'm drunk."

(And for those who need a history lesson to understand the joke, the only Constitutional Amendment that has been repealed was the one regarding Prohibition, i.e. alcohol)

I channeled the Paperwork Ninja on the phone today.

Caller: "I want you to go fix my fine right now! You can't take that money from me!"

Me: "It's not coming from you, it's coming from your group. Since you never bothered to file an appeal and you're a week past the board meeting when the fine was ordered and thus you're no longer eligible to file a motion to reconsider, you'll need to pay for it. I can send you to our administrative assistant who can take payment or help schedule a payment plan to take care of this fine if you like, but it's too late to appeal the agency's decision."

Caller: "Don't you know I'm the mayor of (Hellhole of a City)? What if I don't want to?"

Me: "File a final report. Don't raise anymore money, leave office. Otherwise you need to read what we send to you more than every six months and file your reports on time to avoid fines."

Caller: "Man, you just got answers for everything, don't you?"

Me: "I'm a real hit at parties."
