Friday I'll be doing a special 80's edition of my One Hit Wonders show. What are your favorite one hit wonders from the 80's? I'll see if I can't fit some of them into the show for you ;)

I could probably generate an entire show's worth of songs right off the top of my head, but I'll settle for this one:

"I Don't Mind At All" by Bourgeios Tagg

Dunno if I'll be able to listen, but how about Breakfast Club with "Right On Track".

Stacey Q: “Two of Hearts”

This list was inspired by DJ Sparkles....

Quote:
Stacey Q: “Two of Hearts”

Two hits, other was "We Connect"

"The Humpty Dance" - Digital Underground

1990, plus they had two hits, other was "Kiss You Back"

Quote:
"Wild Wild West" - The Escape Club

Three hits, others were "Shake For The Sheik" and "I'll Be There"

Quote:
"Word Up" - Cameo

Two hits, other was "Candy"

:P

If it helps, Logos is really bad at this game. Not only does he pick bands that have 2-4 hits, but the song he picks is rarely one of them. ;)

http://blog.vh1.com/2009-04-01/100-grea ... he-list-2/

In December 1983 "Rappin' Rodney" became one of the first Hot 100 rap records. (thank you wikipedia)

Oh well...

Vh1 is notorious for their "We say it's a one hit wonder so it's a one hit wonder" lists. Looking at just their top 10 there: A Flock of Seagulls had 3 Top 40 hits, a-ha and Tommy Tutone had two, and both Modern English and Bow Wow Wow had two on the lower half of the Hot 100.

I should write them an angry letter. :P

Also, the album "Rappin' Rodney" was #36 on the Top 200 albums chart, but the song itself didn't hit the singles chart. I think that's where the confusion lies.
